New Premises

Requirements

Between 500 and 900 sq feet of floor space                     (plan below = 594 sq ft)

  • in or near a recognised Irish Culture & Heritage site

Floor space must on the ground floor

  • wheelchair access required

regular floor space shape (footprint) is preferred

A small workshop space is required (Hand Crafts + Mounting & Framing)

  • for mounting and framing prints

  • for manufacturing coin cufflinks

  • for sorting, grading and assembling coin sets

  • for assembling framed Irish memorabilia (coins, banknotes, etc.)

A small sales counter is required (Crafts & Museum Shop)

  • for the collectable inventory

    • coins, tokens and banknotes

    • stamps, postal history and first day covers

    • military medals, badges, buttons

    • miscellaneous small Irish collectables

A large gallery space is required (Irish Heritage Print Gallery)

  • for the Irish Heritage Print Gallery

    • 50 'county' display sections (small + medium 'mounted' prints)

    • 30 'thematic' display sections

A small central museum space is required (Rotating Monthly Exhibits)

  • for regular county / themed exhibits

    • For example

    • 30 images of South Co Dublin in the early 1900's

    • 30 images of 'diaspora postcards' to/from Dublin during this period

    • a glass display case with orginal postcards from the time

We are quite flexible in terms of floorplan and inventory/gallery display layout

  • The schematic below is not drawn to scale

  • It merely illustrates how the prospective museum shop, craft workshop / and gallery spaces can co-exist within one larger (original) space

    • all display units will be floor standing

    • no damage will be done to 'heritage building' infrastructure during the shop-fitting stage

The Heritage Print Gallery and Diaspora Postcard Museum

take up 86% of the space, i.e. it is a tactile experience

The retail and craft workshop space accounts for

only 14% of the space in this 'sample' floor plan

Most prints are displayed in 'mounted' format only

  • these can be framed while you wait

  • these are all ready for sale,

    • i.e. mounted, backed and in clear pouches

Regular county or Irish 'themed' exhibits will be framed

  • these are all ready for sale / order

  • extra copies will be available during exhibitions

    • i.e. JIT manufacturing (on-site) in workshop space
